Today I have a savory recipe for a change. Flammkuchen is a thin pizza-like crust, usually spread with crème fraîche and topped with bacon and onions. It is delicious and great to get creative and use any leftovers, that are sitting in the fridge. For me that meant potatoes, prosciutto, and a lighter but equally creamy sauce made with greek yogurt, sour cream and low fat curd cheese.
I love granola bars. My obsession began when I spent a summer studying in Texas. It was such a convenient snack on the go, that my roommate and I ate them for breakfast, as a snack, dessert or bedtime sweets (when coming home from a long night). Apricot Swiss Roll or “Biskuitroulade” is an Austrian classic. Fluffy dough combined with fruity jam creates a deliciously simple dessert. With only 5 ingredients, that you surely have at home, it makes a wonderful treat to enjoy with your coffee or tea! It is also THE dessert to bake when you are unexpectedly hosting guests. It looks impressive but is so easy and quick to make.
I have a confession to make: I love to eat cake for breakfast! I like to start my day with something sweet. During the week I try to stay away from cake (in the mornings!) and eat my delicious porridge most days. As spring as finally sprung and hopefully is here to stay, I’m officially opening the ice cream season on my blog!
Ever since I made my raw & vegan Carrot Cakes with a creamy vanilla cashew frosting I was wondering what else I could be doing with a cashew base. The warmer temperatures screamed ice cream in my head. And I have been on the hunt for a healthier, guilt-free option that didn’t include bananas!
