My boyfriend’s parents were in town for the week and we wanted to show them an area of London that they haven’t seen before, so we took them to Hampstead for some afternoon tea.
We went to Maison Blanc on Hampstead High Street. Now, I didn’t go for the traditional English tea menu, but ordered the French version of English tea desserts.
Yes this plate was for one person! I especially liked the chocolate éclair and the lemon meringue tarte.
After tea it was time to work off those French pastries so we headed to Hampstead Heath.
Hampstead Heath is a huge park (over 300 hectares) with ponds, wildlife, basically everything the heart desires. The highest point is called Parliament Hill.
So we went right up Parliament Hill.
The view up there is spectacular! You can see the Shard, the Guerkin, St. Paul’s cathedral and the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf.
And running down the hill is fun too!
We strolled around the park until it was getting cold and time to go home for dinner.
I really love this park and could easily spend a day just wandering around. Have you ever been to Hampstead Heath? What is your favorite park in London?
