My boyfriend and I are on our way to Tuscany for vacation. As it is quite a long drive from Vienna we had an overnight stop in Cittadella yesterday. Cittadella is a small town situated in the province of Padua.
While we were still in Austria we stopped at a service station in Carinthia. We refueled ourselves with some shakes and enjoyed the beautiful view of the Wörthersee, before it was time to hit the road again.
As soon as we arrived in Cittadella, we checked in into our hotel, brought the luggage to our room and set out to explore the town.
Just a few minutes from our hotel was the city centre.
What is remarkable about Cittadella is that the city centre is enclosed by a high wall, dating back from medieval times.
We went inside and walked around for a bit, storming into a supermarket to get some nice Italian bread and cheese.

Cittadella is a nice town to spend a few hours. It has cute little shops (lots of shoes!) and nice bars. We settled into a bar overlooking the cathedral and ordered Aperol Spritz while watching the sunset.
Unfortunately it won’t be much of a vacation for us, as we have to write on our dissertations. Nevertheless I’m excited to enjoy some beach time in Tuscany.
