The next day we left our hotel in Berkeley to officially begin our road trip along the coast. I was able to snatch another delicious chocolate chip cookie from the hotel for the road ;) We made a stop at Trader Joe’s, the first for both of us, to fuel up on semi-healthy snacks (hello cashew caramel cookies!). If you wash down cookies with green juice it is healthy, right?
We didn’t have the best start in San Francisco. Our flight from Chicago was delayed two and a half hours because of the weather conditions. As we finally made it to San Francisco, we had to wait for our rental car for ages as the staff at Alamo had already left because it was so late… I fell into our bed at 2 am, happy with a chocolate chip cookie in my hand, thanks to the Hilton hotel we were staying in Berkeley. On our second and last full day in Chicago, we wanted to see and do as much as possible. I had been up since 3:30 am (damn you, jetlag!), catching up on emails and waiting for the nearest Starbucks to open, while the bf was snoozing away.
When both of us were finally up and ready, we headed to Whole Foods for breakfast (second one for me).
First stop on our ‘list’ was Millennium Park, where we were able to spot its main attraction, the Bean, from afar.
Hello lovely people! I’m back home from my amazing trip and finally ready to share with you my memories in a new travel series.
Before beginning our road trip along the coast of Southern California, we made a stop in Chicago. Neither one of us had been to the “Windy City” before and we were eager to explore it. On Saturday it will be almost a month since I have landed in Chicago. Thankfully I have kept (at least started) a travel diary, writing down all the places we have seen along the way so that now I can relive the moments with you in pictures.
My summer vacation in California has sadly come to an end and as you will be reading this, I will be sitting on a plane heading to Florida before going back home.
I have been traveling so much these past two weeks that I feel like I have become a pro at packing. I have reduced my beauty and skincare products to a minimum and kept everything travel-size, in order to have my essentials on hand and also be able to bring them with me on the plane.
Hello from Chicago!
The best thing about jetlag? I can write blog posts as I am awaiting the opening of the nearest Starbucks ;)
Yesterday my boyfriend and I have landed in Chicago, where our trip will begin. We will be exploring Chicago for the next two days before hopping on a plane to San Francisco. From there we will be driving down the Pacific Coast stopping along the way. Some of our stops will include: Monterey, Santa Monica, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Palm Springs.
